The Lord’s Table Do this in remembrance of ME….but are you partaking unworthily? One needs to ask oneself…..

Php 3:9  And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Php 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

It was 42 years ago in February of this year since the Lord met me in my room, with no Bible, only through a small tract left on the subway which I picked up on my way home returning late at night from my job, as a waiter, in a gay bar.

The tract told the story of a violent criminal who was in prison, at the time of his conversion.  The Lord met him, and overnight changed his life.  The warden and security officers were witness to how this man’s violent character was changed overnight, to a man filled with peace finding forgiveness through Christ’s Grace, and His shed blood in forgiving this man his sins.  I remember so distinctly asking the question, how was this man changed so quickly, how is it possible?

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

You see, I thought I was a Christian, being raised as a Baptist, saying the Sinners Prayer of forgiveness at the insistence of my Aunt to do so at the age of about 12 yrs of age.  I was baptized, full submersion, became a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, involved with the choir, Sunday school, and the Boys Brigade.  Went every Sunday, and Wednesday with my Grandparents and Aunt while residing in California.  However, my secret life of homosexuality activity was not known, matter of fact I was not aware I was one, did not even know the meaning of it.  It was just something that I had been practicing since a very young age of 5 yrs.

Joh 1:13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Anyway, that night in my room, after asking the question, I remember my Aunt’s voice informing me that homosexuality was a sin, then a quiet and still voice said to me, that I was not born being gay, which I believed since it started so early, that it was in fact a lie, and that, yes, being gay was sin.  There was no condemnation, but just surrounded by an incredible sense of being shown Love, my mouth opened wide, and I gasped, oh my Lord, it is sin! Oh I was so blind, and I just cried out, forgive me Jesus, please I did not believe!  At that moment, I knew Jesus was in my room, not visibly, but in Spirit, it was then I realized He was truly alive, and REAL!  I was stunned, yet I knew He was true, I just burst out in tears asking Him to forgive me, and cleanse me from my sin… the same time I remember my memory took me back to the Baptist church and how I saw,  the reality, that Jesus was not truly real to me back then, it was just tradition, and that I never truly believed He was this real, this alive!  I wept so uncontrollably, continually asking for forgiveness, and to take over my life……I was invaded with such a cleansing going throughout my whole being, and then with such unspeakable JOY, that He was truly Alive and truly REAL!  God was real, I have never felt such accepting Love in my whole life!

Eph 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

I state this, because this was my “rebirth by the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit” the day of MY Salvation! But I had no idea what “Sanctification” meant, and through the decades and many false religious traditional traps and false teachings, I now realize what dying to self truly means, and it truly is ALL the Work of Christ!  ALL by Grace, and NOTHING of myself!

Joh_15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

This was the beginning of an incredible Love story, that Jesus Christ is the lover of my soul, in all Grace, Purity, Truth and Righteousness….. never ending, always faithful in accomplishing His Promises to such a sick, and defiled, rejected soul as I was and in some respects still am while living in this fleshly body.  I want to share how the Lord has taught me to distinguish between the Spirit, and the works of the flesh, which has eventually made me to understand on “how” to deny self and allow the Lord to work out ALL things;

Psa_138:8  The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Eph 5:9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Eph 5:10  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Now, I would like to point out, that each of our Salvation experience will NOT be the same, for as we are born individually to our parents, we are individually”Born-Again” to our Heavenly Father., so therefore our “Sanctification” process will be as individual as we are to one another.  Each believer’s life experience is a very separate walk in this life ie; we each are born to different families, differing siblings, if any, and our sins are very much different from one another. For example: I was sexually abused from my mother, and other abuses as well, sexual abuse ran in my mother’s side of the family.  So my life experience, is very different from another believers testimony.  Our “re-birth” into the Lord’s Salvation is very different, so will our sanctification, but the end result will be the same…. in maturing in the ways of our Lord, so it shall be with each and everyone of you!

So you see with our individual sins, doubts, unbelief’s, fears, trials and afflictions, the Lord will deal with each of you on an individual basis, we can not copy or hold up another persons walk as a typical standard! We are individually made as each one of the stars in our Lord’s created heavens in the night sky! So shall be our walk with our Dear Sweet Lord, the Lover of our souls!

If you read the Lord’s Word you will see in the Old and the New Testament, how the Lord dealt with each individual as per HIS WILL and PURPOSE!  This also pertains to the nation of Israel as a corporate entity, meaning as a “whole,” but there was always certain individuals that stood out as an example for us even in the midst of Israels fleshly rebellions and idolatries!

You are probably wondering what does this have to do with “The Lord’s Table” and partaking of it unworthily. Well bear with me please, I am getting to it.  I desire to express that in my walk with the Lord these last 42 yrs, most of it was a personal wandering in the wilderness, you could say.  I have personally experienced every “denomination” you could imagine, with the exception of the RCC, Seventh Day Adventist’s, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormon’s etc.,   What I have discovered is that NOT one has ever described the individual’s responsibility in establishing their individual walk with the Lord, as far as I can remember!  That is what I was trying to establish in the previous paragraphs, and this is a very important point to understand!

Paul teaches us in Philippians; Php 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Php 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

During our present “church age” what most Pastor/teachers teach “their” sheep is join “their” church membership, live a Godly life, and mortify the flesh by seeking the Lord upon your knees, fasting and praying, reading His Word 3 times a day, memorizing scriptures, serve your fellow Christians by being accountable to one another!  Volunteer your time to the church; cleaning, cooking for fellowship dinner’s, give your tithing money at the cost of your family, attend church on Sunday’s, prayer meetings, men’s breakfasts, socialize together, come to our cafe’s night’s, movie nights, Christian concerts, Christian bowling teams, socialize with each other. Also and stay away from having sinner’s as friends, be a witness to all and preach Salvation so they can join our church! Obey your pastor in all things because we have our various degrees from Bible Universities, and Seminaries and know the ways of God and do not question what we teach! Come to US with all your problems and confess your sins and God will bless you with a Holy life; by serving the community, give to the poor, buy books which teach you how to follow after God and win the victories over sin! Sacrifice and give of yourself!  Give…give…give! It is an endless list of do’s and do not’s and that is just scratching the surface of their Anti-Christ system!

My dear friends in Christ, I have learned in the past 42 years, that ALL of the above is nothing but fleshly works of “wood, hay and stubble” all bondage’s to serve man,  making idols of the pastors and their “Ministries” agenda’s to so-call “Save the World”! You become slaves to their “Vision”, and their needs, and Jesus is left standing alone without having fellowship with HIS SHEEP which He bought by the shedding of His Blood! All of the above is a stumbling block to His children, for they are teaching the religious and fleshly ways of man, the broad path which leads to death and destruction, and not to the Narrow path which leads to life in Christ Jesus.

1Co 11:27  Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

1Co 11:28  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

1Co 11:29  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

1Co 11:30  For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

1Co 11:31  For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

1Co 11:32  But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Jesus has instructed us that He is:

Joh 6:48  I am that bread of life.

Joh 6:49  Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

Joh 6:50  This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

Joh 6:51  I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Joh 6:52  The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

Joh 6:53  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Joh 6:54  Whoso  eath my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:55  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

It was that Christ’s “flesh,” is that He being God in the flesh was giving Himself to be crucified, this represents the “crucifying of the flesh” and the shedding of blood was part of the “cup of suffering”. He was to experience the condemnation of the flesh, and being separate from the Presence of His Father, because the Father could not tolerate the corruption of the sins of the flesh, so God in likeness of man, gave Himself to be the “replacement” for man. Therefore, Christ suffered the total payment of Sin, which in turn DESTROYED the works of Satan, the works of the flesh!
There is life in the Blood, Christ was the PERFECT human sacrifice, God shed HIS Blood, to forgive, remove the Power of Sin, for Christ was the Perfect Work of Righteousness by the Faith of God in HIM!

Joh 6:56  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

Joh 6:57  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

oh 6:58  This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

Joh 18:11  Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

Mat 26:39  And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

So you see the above scriptures  John 6: 56-58 and John 18:11 & Mat 26:39 is talking about “spiritual” partaking, because in reality we do not partake by doing this in a real natural sense, unless we are being offered up to suffer death through persecution by unbelievers.

Now the following scriptures explains that when we are partaking of the Lord’s Table, we need to do so rightly:

1Co 11:24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

You see, when we try in our flesh (self-determination) to overcome sin (self-sanctification), and when we fall in those sins, we then will experience condemnation, which is due to us trying to be holy by the Law, and NOT by the Resurrection power of the Holy Spirit in overcoming all the sins within our “flesh”!  However, if we truly are the Lord’s, He shall get us there, and cause us to understand His Ways.  He has promised to do so.  It can take many of us so many years to come to understand this, but each will do so in God’s Way, and timing!

Php 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

How many go about doing communion in the traditional manner? Yet they are NOT “eating the Bread” nor “drinking the blood” worthily…it is NOT a tradition, it is about being fed by Jesus, He is the Bread of Life! It is not about drinking the real blood, it is about communing in the cup which represents the “cup of suffering” His suffering.

So though I have not personally partaken in the “Traditional” manner of the “Communion” in the last couple of decades, until recently with like minded brethren, I have partaken in the “Living” Spiritual communion with our Dear Lord. I have eaten His Word, the Bread of Life, and have drank the Blood, I have walked the walk of the cup of suffering!  He is causing me to allow Him to deal with sin and death within me, and all the works of the flesh, and the day I came to see that reality…What a revelation it truly was!  We must walk the walk as HE leads, NOT talk the walk, which we have walked!  It must ALL come from Him, if it is not, then we are NOT HIS!

Now I must add this. Babes in Christ have nothing to fear, because when we first set out as babes, we know nothing of Him and His ways. Similar to parents with their own babies, they need  feeding, so much loving affection, coddling, patience, gentleness, constant attention, changing of diaper’s (the Lord cleans up all of our messes spiritually speaking), comforting,  giving so much assurance that they are truly loved.
So let not, dear young ones, your heart be troubled:

Joh_14:1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Joh_14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

However I must state here, that our dear Lord gives a stern warning to ALL those who are the cause of their stumbling into false teaching, false belief systems, traditions of men, philosophizing after the rudiments of men, making merchandise of them:

Mat_18:7  Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Mat_23:13  But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Mat_23:14  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Mat_23:15  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Mat_23:16  Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

Mat_23:23  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Mat_23:25  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Mat_23:27  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

Mat_23:29  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

So let us ask the Lord to assist us, to spiritually understand how He desires to get us there…to be one with Him.

2Ti_2:11  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

I hope and pray the Lord will give all understanding to set them free from the bondage of self-trying, and allow the Lover of your soul, to accomplish the finished work, for only then is HE truly GLORIFIED in your life and His name is lifted up unto the World!

In His Eternal Love,
